Democracy Vs Capitalism

(Or- Why don't we spend a Trillion Dollars on Houses)

In the end Main St never stood a chance.
They're the ones that Democracy should work best to protect right? After all Democracy offers Taxation WITH Representation. One person, one vote.
It's fundamental policies revolve around establishing equality, and have given rise to a burgeoning middle class.

This Week, Democracy Died.

It never really stood a chance, the end was rigged like a Don King Boxing match.

Those on Main St had helped give rise to the worlds largest economic power by being active participants through their productivity and consumerist power.

But that changed over the last 3 decades. The minimum wage has barely moved during this time, while the cost of housing has tripled. Main St was not offered the benefits of this economic boom, that was reserved for the million dollar golden parachutes of Wall St bankers.

And then it all crashed.

And now they want to spend a trillion Dollars on bailing out the elite of Wall St.

And no-one can sufficiently explain how this will really salvage the system, because, when all is said and done it doesn't address the cause of the problem, it's merely a Trillion dollar band-aid upon the haemorrhaging wound.

A trillion dollars,
That’s $1,000,000,000,000.
Or $4000 for every man, woman and child living in the U.S.A.

Now, remember what caused the crisis?
The Sub-prime housing market crash on Main St.

Over 5 million American Mortgages are facing foreclosure.

A Trillion dollars is enough to buy 1,000,000 million dollar homes.

Or enough to save every single one of these affected families.

So instead of asking Main St to cover the excesses of Wall St with a bandaid solution.

Lets re-establish financial stability to the base of the economic pyramid.

Spending A Trillion Dollars on Housing stops 5 million families from becoming homeless, and a drain on the resources of charity services and social services.
It instead makes sure they stay active, participating members of the economy as both producers and consumers.

Lets spend a Trillion Dollars on Houses
